Terms of use.

1. Agreement

SeriousPixel, LLC operates Obsecurea. By creating an account, connecting a product, redeeming a license, or otherwise using the services, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the services.

2. Accounts and responsibility

Accounts are intended for adults and others legally able to agree to these terms and manage the devices they protect. You must provide accurate information, keep your password and adult PIN confidential, and promptly sign out unknown devices or notify support of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for configuring protection on devices you own or are authorized to manage.

A parent or guardian may configure Obsecurea for a child. The adult account owner remains responsible for settings, saved exceptions, license sharing, and compliance with applicable law. Do not give a child the adult PIN if the PIN is intended to protect settings.

3. Licenses and devices

Creating an account is free. Features that require a license work only while an eligible license is active. Each license has a stated term and device allowance. One registered installation uses one device slot even when supported Obsecurea apps on that same installation create separate sessions. A license may cover family members in different locations, subject to its total device limit and the account owner's responsibility for their use.

License keys are issued to a recipient email and must be redeemed by the verified recipient. Finite renewals may be queued to begin after the current term ends. A later license with a smaller allowance can sign out older devices when it begins, retaining the most recently active installations up to the new limit. Lifetime licenses, when issued, do not have a scheduled expiration date, but they do not guarantee that every feature, browser, operating system, or third-party service will remain available forever.

The platform does not currently sell licenses or process payments. Any separate sale, refund, tax, or purchase terms presented by an authorized seller also apply to that transaction.

4. Acceptable use

Use Obsecurea only for lawful personal, family, or authorized organizational protection. You may not abuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, evade license or device limits, share account credentials beyond people you authorize under your license, resell access without written permission, introduce malicious code, use the service to monitor another person unlawfully, or infringe the rights of others. You may inspect and use interfaces we provide, but you may not misrepresent Obsecurea or its results.

5. Filtering behavior and limits

Obsecurea is an aid for reducing exposure to unwanted content. It is not a guarantee that every explicit image, word, advertisement, website, or other item will be detected or blocked. Safe content may sometimes be covered. The current Chrome extension checks supported HTML images and visible page text; video, protected media, CSS background images, other browsers, other Chrome profiles, and activity outside Chrome may remain outside its coverage. Desktop network filtering works at the domain level and may be bypassed by VPNs, custom encrypted DNS, direct IP connections, or software that does not use the operating system resolver.

Saved Site filtering rules can either reduce or add domain filtering, while Image exclusions intentionally reduce filtering for content you approve. A licensed Allowed Site rule bypasses adult-site filtering for the chosen domain while retaining the DNS provider's malware filtering; it cannot unblock a domain classified as malicious. A Blocked Site rule prevents the chosen domain from resolving through the Obsecurea local relay. Turning a filter off, revealing content once, adding an exception, signing out, using another browser profile, disabling the extension, or allowing someone administrator access to a device can reduce protection. Managed-browser policies and operating-system controls are separate tools. Obsecurea does not replace supervision, judgment, emergency services, medical advice, or device and network security.

6. Third-party content and services

Websites, image hosts, Chrome, operating systems, DNS filtering providers, hosting providers, and linked services are operated by others and remain subject to their own terms and privacy practices. Obsecurea does not control their content, availability, or changes. A third-party site or service can change in a way that affects filtering, and a browser or platform update can change extension or desktop behavior.

7. Ownership and feedback

The Obsecurea name, logo, software, models as packaged or licensed, artwork, text, site design, and service interfaces belong to SeriousPixel, LLC or its licensors. These terms grant you a limited, personal, revocable right to use the services under your account and license; they do not transfer ownership. Third-party components remain subject to their own licenses. If you provide feedback, you allow us to use it to improve Obsecurea without an obligation to compensate you.

8. Deactivation, suspension, and termination

You may sign out or uninstall the extension at any time. Choosing Delete account deactivates the account, revokes active and scheduled licenses, and signs out sessions. The account can be recovered during the recovery period, but licenses are not restored automatically. Customer accounts inactive for at least 28 days may be permanently deleted by an administrator and cannot then be restored.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, a security risk, legal requirements, nonpayment under separate purchase terms, or a material violation of these terms. We may preserve information as described in the Privacy Notice and may provide notice when practical.

9. Availability and disclaimers

We work to provide a useful and reliable service, but Obsecurea is provided on an “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not promise uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every device or page, or perfect detection. We may improve, replace, limit, or discontinue features as browsers, operating systems, threats, and technical requirements change.

Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Limits of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SeriousPixel, LLC and its providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data, lost profits, or harm caused by content that a filter misses or covers. Our total liability for a claim related to a paid service will not exceed the amount paid for that service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.

11. Updates and contact

We may update these terms as the services change. The effective date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be presented through an appropriate service or website notice. Continued use after updated terms take effect means you accept the revised terms. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
