How Obsecurea handles information across the website, account platform, support service, licenses, and connected products.

This notice covers the Obsecurea website and account platform. The Chrome extension privacy notice provides additional detail about browser permissions and local content processing and is part of this notice for extension users.
1. Who we are and what this covers
SeriousPixel, LLC operates Obsecurea. This notice applies when you visit obsecurea.com, create or use an account at app.obsecurea.com, manage licenses and devices, contact support, or connect an Obsecurea product to the platform. Future desktop or mobile products may add supplemental disclosures before release.
2. Information we handle
Website visits. The static marketing site does not use analytics scripts, advertising pixels, third-party fonts, tracking cookies, or browser storage. Our hosting provider may process technical request information needed to deliver and secure the site, including IP address, requested page, browser information, and request time.
Accounts and authentication. We store the name and email address you provide, a password hash, email-verification status, account status, membership date, and security records such as session and verification-token hashes. Administrator accounts also use encrypted authenticator setup information.
Licenses, devices, and app sessions. We store license terms, status, device allowance, issuance and redemption history, registered-device name and platform, a public installation key, app-session type, and connection timestamps. Obsecurea does not collect a device MAC address.
Exceptions, rules, and support. When you deliberately save an image exception, we store the page origin and exact image URL. A domain-wide image exception stores the site origin and selected mode. A network Site filtering rule stores the domain, whether its subdomains are included, and whether you selected Allowed or Blocked. Support requests may include your email, issue type, subject, message, replies, ticket status, and provider message identifiers. Support message bodies and queued email payloads are encrypted at rest.
Payments. The platform does not currently process checkout or store payment-card information. Licenses are issued separately from the account platform.
3. How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts; verify email addresses; connect licensed installations; enforce device limits; issue, redeem, renew, revoke, and restore licenses; synchronize exclusions selected by the account owner; send transactional and expiration email; answer support requests; prevent abuse; maintain service reliability; and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or use browsing activity for advertising.
The account platform uses a secure, HTTP-only session cookie so you can stay signed in. It normally expires after 14 days and is removed when you sign out. The marketing site itself does not set cookies.
4. Local content and network processing
The Chrome extension checks supported images and visible page text locally on the device. It does not upload checked image bytes or page text to Obsecurea for classification, and it does not send each visited site or image URL to the platform for a verdict. The platform receives account, license, device-session, and policy requests, plus only the site or image exceptions an authorized user deliberately saves. The desktop app applies network filtering on the computer. When licensed Site filtering rules are present, its local DNS relay compares requested domain names with the signed rule list on the device. Allowed rules use the malware-filtering resolver, while Blocked rules are denied locally without sending that query to the DNS provider. Obsecurea does not receive or retain those DNS queries or browsing history. The third-party DNS filtering provider receives other DNS queries needed to resolve or block domains under its own privacy practices.
6. Retention and account deletion
We keep account, license, device, exclusion, and support information while the account is active and as needed to operate and secure the service. Choosing Delete account first deactivates the account, revokes active and scheduled licenses, and signs out sessions. The account remains recoverable for at least 28 days. After that period, an administrator can permanently delete the customer account and its associated licenses, devices, exceptions, and support history. Limited security records and deleted-message identifiers may be retained when needed to prevent replay, document an administrative action, or comply with law. Deleted information may remain temporarily in rotating backups and provider logs until those systems age it out.
7. Children
Obsecurea accounts and administrative controls are intended for adults or others legally able to manage a device and agree to the Terms of Use. A parent or guardian may configure protection for a child, but the child does not need an Obsecurea account. We do not knowingly ask children to submit personal information. Contact us if you believe a child provided information so we can review and address it.
8. Your choices and security
You can update your profile, manage saved exceptions, review and sign out connected devices and app sessions, change your adult PIN, and deactivate your account from the platform. You can contact support for account or privacy questions. Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of personal information.
We use HTTPS, hashed credentials and tokens, encrypted application secrets and support messages, access controls, and administrative multifactor authentication. No system can guarantee absolute security, so use a unique password and protect your adult PIN.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this notice as the services or our practices change. The effective date above shows the latest revision. Material changes will be presented through an appropriate service or website notice. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
